The drive to Queenstown through Wanaka is as you guessed, gorgeous. Lake Wanaka is just amazing, beautiful blue water surrounding more epic mountain scapes. Queenstown, like Christchurch is known best a ski town, though it’s much smaller than Christchurch.

I loved Queenstown; it’s very cozy and compact and has tons of shops, restaurants and eclectic stores. There is a really great French chocolate café that has just about anything you can imagine. We had a great time here walking around, shopping and ended up dancing the night away at the Pig & Whistle Bar. We were shocked when the live band played one of our favorite songs from Snow Patrol, it was a great night.
