North
Island Adventure: Only after a few weeks in the country, I was surprised to find out that we had 2 weeks off for Christmas. So, taking advantage of this rare time off from work, Simon and I headed off on a holiday adventure all over the North Island. I figured I would document this trip online with photos and links for all to see. Luckily, as well, Simon is quite the photographer and although I have taken some of these amazing photos, most were taken by him. There were literally hundreds but I narrowed it down to the very best to share with you. We started our journey on Christmas Day and took advantage of cheap airline tickets. We were lucky enough to have a co-worker allow us to use her car for free as long as we could return it back to Wellington by mid Jan. The only catch was that it was already in Rotorua. So we took a quick plane ride there and our trusty stead was waiting for us in the airport parking lot and our journey began. Click on the various spots to see photos from the trip.

South Island Adventure: My girlfriend Jessica finally made it out to see me and we decided to take advantage of this beautiful country and planned a trip all over the South Island of New Zealand. I’ve had quite a few friends who’ve done various routes and based on their recommendations we made a very efficient itinerary. It didn’t take long to see why Peter Jackson decided to film most of Lord of the Rings in this unknown paradise. We started out on the Northern tip taking the Interislander Ferry down from Wellington to Picton and our trip began. We rented a car and planned on driving it all the way down to Queenstown where we would eventually fly home. Overall, the South Island is much more scenic then the North and offers a slew of more activities to keep you busy. We documented the trip very well and I am posting the best of the hundreds of pictures that we took along the way. Enjoy.
