We didn’t have any real plans in Kaikoura since they cancelled the shark diving years ago due to lack of sharks. The main thing we stopped to see here was seal rock. It was very cool to see hundreds of seals just playing in the various pools of water scattered around the rocks. This was the only day on the trip that it rained so we made a bee-line to our next stop, the natural hot pools of Hanmer Springs.
