Nasonex Commercial...

Hey all, R &H recently finished a commercial that we did for Nasonex. I got to spend a few days helping out with the bee model. It was a lot of fun to work on a commercial, lots of creativety on a short timeline. You may recognize the voice of the bee, "in boots." Enjoy.

Chesney Baker Head - Finished!

So I finally got around this weekend to finishing that sculpt of Chesney Baker that I started awhile back. There is one final render which I had envisioned from the start which is from the front view, similar to the reference from Kruger. I also included a few view images directly out of Mudbox. Since I knew I was only going for the front view from the start, I focused most of the detail to that area. I'd like to thank Sebastian Kruger again for inspiring this piece.

Chesney Baker - Update...

So I got to spend a few more hours on the head, gave it another once over. I know it seems like I'm taking forvever on this thing but I put the model down for quite awhile. Had a cool freelance gig that I was working on for a few weeks then went off to Siggraph. Still on level 3, its about 90,000 polys for the head. I threw in some quick geometry from Maya, for the hair and shirt. Have to do quite a bit of work and them add the pores and fine wrinkles to the head but here's a peak.

Enjoy.

Siggraph 2006 - Recap

So I just got back in from my week long excursion back East, including my 2 day stint at Siggraph, Boston. I didn't post anything leading up to my trip because I was surprising my brother back in Pittsburgh and also my buds in Boston. The first surprise worked but my trip Siggraph got leaked along the way somewhere. Regardless, I had a blast.

I worked the booth for Rhythm on Wednesday and got to meet a lot of really cool people. I also got to catch up with some old professors and friends in the industry. What a difference a year makes. It was so much fun seeing things from the other side of the booth and the trip was just so much more enjoyable without the stress of looking for a job. I saw a cool lecture at ILM on how the did some of the work on Davy Jones. Also got to see some of Zbrush 2.5, looks better then I was expecting but I think that Mudbox is still gonna give them a run. I met up with my buddy Sandip from Digital Tutors who asked me to do a "Featured Artist" series so look for more on that in the future. We also got out and enjoyed the night life of Boston, good times.

It was nice talking with everyone and all of you that I met, feel free to stay in contact whenever. I'd like to stay in touch and see where you all end up. And lastly, thanks a million to Anna, Landis, Roger, Carrie, Tom, and Jacob for all the memories, letting me crash at their hotel, and for co-ordinating the whole excursion.

Lata.
